Item description:
IMPERF BETWEEN PAIR
When the security printers went into liquidation some years ago, amongst the material found in their archives were a very small number of totally imperforate sheets from various sets of stamps from a number of countries.  All sheets were printed in 1985 or 1986.    When the liquidators sold the archival material, for the first time these imperforate items were made available to the public.   All the issued sheets of stamps were issued perforated.   None were issued imperf.    Very few stamp dealers had ever seen these items, and there was some discussion as to whether they were imperf plate proof sheets waiting to be sent to the postal museums of the various countries or whether the sheets mistakenly missed out on being perforated with the main printing runs and had been left in the archives (in which case they would be very scarce imperf between pairs or blocks).    Whether the item is an imperf plate proof or an error imperf between pair, either way it is well worth the sale price.
