Circular bronze medal with integral bar for ribbon suspension; the face with a knight in armour mounted on a rearing horse; the reverse inscribed ‘MARCHE DE L’ARMEE LUXEMBOURG’; on original ribbon mounted for wear with crossed cannons denoting an award for two 40km marches. The Luxembourg army has a strength of approximately 900 men and has been an all-volunteer force since 1967. In that year, an annual two-day march was instituted in which both military and civilians, Luxembourgeois and foreign may participate. This march is held each summer and participants are awarded a medal, together with ribbon insignia denoting the achievement of the wearer. The 40km march, as in this example, is the highest award. The medal is not commonly found.

Ronde bronzen medaille met geïntegreerde staaf voor lintophanging; het gezicht met een ridder in harnas gemonteerd op een steigerend paard; op de achterzijde staat de inscriptie ‘MARCHE DE L’ARMEE LUXEMBOURG’; op origineel lint gemonteerd voor slijtage met gekruiste kanonnen ter aanduiding van een onderscheiding voor twee marsen van 40 km. Het Luxemburgse leger heeft een sterkte van ongeveer 900 man en bestaat sinds 1967 geheel uit vrijwilligers. In dat jaar werd een jaarlijkse tweedaagse mars ingesteld waaraan zowel militairen als burgers, Luxemburgs en buitenlanders, konden deelnemen. Deze mars wordt elke zomer gehouden en de deelnemers krijgen een medaille, samen met lintinsignes die de prestatie van de drager aanduiden. De mars van 40 km is, zoals in dit voorbeeld, de hoogste onderscheiding. De medaille wordt niet vaak gevonden.

Van alles wordt apart een foto / scan gemaakt , De soms voorkomende rechte strepen / rood / groen op de scans zijn afkomstig van de scanner en zitten niet op de kaart zelf.
