Hendrik (Henri) Conscience (Antwerpen, 3 december 1812 – Elsene, 10 september 1883) was een Belgisch schrijver. Hij werkte zich door talent en ijver op tot een Vlaams volksschrijver. Er wordt van hem gezegd dat hij "de man was die zijn volk leerde lezen."
