1984 wine label from Weston´s Winery. This is a superb gummed wine label. Litho printing. Black. The wines of the era were named after famous people and have remained very unique. At the time it was a huge selling point and showed that the New Zealand Industry did not have copy French names and print look alike labels. It is mint and never used. Hello,
My name is Geoff Weston and I live in the city of Dunedin in the province of Otago, in the South Island of New Zealand. I have been a stamp collector since about 8 years old. My father was the head of the Post Office stamps Branch in Dunedin and he collected blocks and sheets of everything. I came to be given some of these and that is how my collecting started.
I never extend auctions.
I mainly try to auction Perfect Condition, mint never hinged (MNH) items of any topic or country. However, I also auction used items of very good quality wherever this is possible and items of philatelic interest such as wine labels, fantasy banknotes and so on.
Most auctions are set at 7 days to give buyers a better chance of winning the item. If however, you are intending to buy a few others, please inform me on oceaniapost@yahoo.co.nz and I can hold your won items until you are ready to pay for them. This is called Banking. But please give your buyer satisfaction feedback as after a certain time this can not be done and both buyer and seller lose out.
Never forget to bring the listings up by Most Expensive, Ending Soon etc in the Searching Options as this brings you to something of your interest faster.
If you require a single stamp instead of the block or multipul that is listed, please enquire as I can usually supply a single. And alternately, if you require blocks or multipuls or sheets, please enquire as I can usually supply to your requests.
If you require stamps of series or covers etc that are not listed, please ask. This is especially important for Antarctica Post covers and letters as they are sometimes not yet returned from the postmasters at the South Pole Station and the Ross Dependency or other places inside the Antarctic Circle. You may also ask for me to search for your wanted items to complete your collection.
Pricing
From time to time I undertake a review of the price of an item and move it up or down .
SEARCHING: Since the addition of more subcatagories in the New Zealand section I had re-classified into those sub catagories. However, I have seen visits diminish greatly and it has been pointed out to me how much more time consuming it is to search this way. I am in the process of shifting those stamps into the unclassified sections of the particular country or topic. This mainly applies to New Zealand so that when searching you can scroll through everything. Indeed, I find this myself when searching for items.
It is also faster to go to my store (Oceania) and select the folder you want. But sometimes I do list topically such as for cats or dogs and Antarctica Post which might be listed in Polar items. And I sometimes relist topically or country. Another easy way of searching is to go to my store and open the folders that interest you.
I mainly auction New Zealand Wine Post, Antarctica Post and Oceania Post items. (Independent mails of New Zealand). But I do list other countries mails, fantasy stamps and other philatelic items of interest to collectors.
Sometimes, I auction other Independent mails of New Zealand and other local posts of the world and related items. My stamp collecting interests are wide and I will from time to time auction any topic or country.
I also auction errors, flaws and varieties etc.
Please inquire about my philatelic items you want and I'll place them for buy now or auction.
I also have pre-decimal and decimal mint and used New Zealand stamps.
I also have many unique and unusual philatelic items.
Please ask me what else I have on this topic
I also auction non-philatelic items such as wine labels and Fantasy Banknotes, (go to my store).
I also auction proofs, essays, trials, rejected designs, artwork, exhibition cards etc.
PLease inquire for what you need.
Happy Bidding.
Note:
All items are packaged in waterproof cellephane, stiffened to keep flat, and posted via Airmail. Where sizes are non-standard extra postage costs may be applied.
