Alexander Alexandrovich Alekhine (1892-1946) — Russian chess player, fourth world chess champion, the first champion of the RSFSR, the world record holder for the game "blindly". Born in Moscow into a noble family. He graduated from the classical gymnasium Polivanova. In 1905 he won the first prize in the tournament by correspondence, conducted by the magazine "Chess review". A. A. Alekhine was a member of the Moscow chess circle, played in tournaments in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, carlsbad, Stockholm, Berlin, Paris. In 1910 he entered the law faculty of Moscow University in 1911 and moved to St. Petersburg, where in 1914 he graduated from the Imperial law school and received the rank of titular counselor, were referred to the Ministry of justice.
In 1920 A. A. Alekhin became the first champion of the RSFSR. In 1921, released in Berlin her first book "Chess life in Soviet Russia", in 1924 has published the work "My best games" (1908-1923), in 1925, became a doctor of law, with a thesis "the System of imprisonment in China." In 1929 he published two more books — "On the way to the Supreme chess achievements" (1924-1927) and "international chess tournament in new York 1927". In 1937 he published in London the book "Nottingham 1936" (1937) and "My best games. 1924-1937" (1939). In 1943-1944. he wrote a chess Department in Russian newspaper "New word", published in Berlin.
