1978, Poland "ZENON JANKOWSKI" prepared but not issued, 1.50zl. and 6.90zl., both mini sheets of six stamps and two ornamental fields, unmounted mint. Mr. Jankowski was the chosen cosmonaut for that flight but he had to withdraw due to a sudden illness. His alternate was Miroslaw Hermaszewski; with his portrait this issue was put to sale. 500 sets of mini sheets of the already printed "Jankowski" issue were delivered to the National Post Museum, the remaining 30.500 sets were destroyed, but apprx. 50 sets of mini sheets apparently did escape destruction. In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
