Ein Dorf spielt seit 100 Jahren Theater: Im Sommer feiert Einsiedeln das Jubiläum des Welttheaters. Das Freilichttheater von Einsiedeln (SZ) wird 2024 hundert Jahre nach der ersten Spielzeit zum 17. Mal aufgeführt. Das Welttheater beruht auf einem Stück des spanischen Philosophen Caldéron. Seit 2000 erhält das Stück Neufassungen, die sich nicht nur mit Caldéron, sondern auch mit aktuellen Fragestellungen auseinandersetzen. Traditionell wirkt das ganze Dorf hinter den Kulissen und auf der Bühne mit, ein kollektiver Kraftakt, der durch die Sondermarke gewürdigt wird.

Depuis un siècle, le village d’Einsiedeln se met en scène avec le Théâtre du monde, dont le centenaire est célébré cet été. Le théâtre en plein air du village d’Einsiedeln (SZ) lèvera le rideau pour la 17e fois cet été, cent ans après la première représentation. Le Théâtre du monde s’inspire d’une pièce du philosophe espagnol Caldéron. Depuis 2000, cette oeuvre a été revisitée pour offrir des représentations, qui ne renvoie pas seulement à Caldéron, mais aussi à des questionnements actuels. Le village est historiquement impliqué en coulisses et sur les planches et le timbre-anniversaire rend notamment hommage à ce gigantesque travail collectif.

Da un secolo, il villaggio di Einsiedeln va in scena con il Teatro del mondo, che quest’estate festeggia il suo centenario. Il teatro all’aperto del villaggio di Einsiedeln (SZ) alzerà il sipario per la 17ª volta quest’estate, a cento anni dalla prima rappresentazione. Il Teatro del mondo è ispirato a un’opera del filosofo spagnolo Caldéron. Dal 2000, quest’opera è stata rivisitata per offrire spettacoli che non rimandano solo a Caldéron, ma anche a temi di attualità. Come vuole la tradizione, il villaggio viene coinvolto sia dietro le quinte sia sul palcoscenico, un’impresa collettiva titanica a cui il francobollo dell’anniversario rende omaggio.

The village of Einsiedeln has been staging world theatre performances for a century and celebrates the festival’s centenary this summer. The outdoor theatre in the village of Einsiedeln, Canton of Schwyz, will raise the curtain for the 17th time this summer – 100 years after the very first performance. The world theatre is inspired by a play written by the Spanish philosopher Caldéron. Since 2000, this play has been revisited to produce performances that don’t just involve Caldéron, but also current issues. The village has traditionally been involved both backstage and on stage, and the anniversary stamp pays tribute to this huge collective effort.
