In 1991 Walsall Security Printers were asked to prepare a set of stamps showing the Wesleyan missionaries who visited Tonga in the 1800´s. The artwork was done, proofs were done, specimen sets were prepared and part of the main printing run was also completed. At that point in time, word came from Tonga that this stamp issue was to be cancelled and that a set of stamps showing the Mormon churches on the island should replace the Wesley missionaries set. As you can see from your catalogues, a set of 2 stamps showing Mormon churches was issued in 1991. All the Wesley sets were destroyed. Some of the specimen sets were sent out ahead of time to stamp dealers and philatelic journals to show them the upcoming issue, so this is why specimen sets appear for sale from time to time, but very rarely do MNH sets appear for sale - this is because they were all destroyed by the printers except for a couple of sheets which were kept in the printers archives and have now eventually made it to the philatelic market. Very scarce in MNH set.

REST OF WORLD - 3 euros for each 50 grammes

Australia Post SMALL international registration envelope - 10.00 euros - used for smaller items and smaller covers.

Australia Post LARGE international registration envelope - 16.00 euros - used for larger items and larger covers. NOTE there is no tracking with registered letters. Tracking costs a little bit more.

On certain occasions if large total is purchased, tracking may be required and I will advise the cost - currently it is 21.00 euros

NOTE - IMPORTANT - WHEN REGISTRATION IS COMPULSORY

Registration fee MUST be paid when:-

1. Total cost of items purchased is over 60 euros.
2. Any country I deem necessary because of risk.
