The remarkable story of one of World War Two’s unsung heroes, Sqn Ldr Edward ‘Teddy’ Blenkinsop, DFC, CdeG (Belge), RCAF.’ Le 27 avril 1944, le Lancaster du Canadian Blenkinsop tombe après un bombardement allié à proximité du village de Montzen (Plombières). Seul survivant du crash, il est reçu par la résistance belge et participe bientôt à leurs actions. Il est arrêté lors de représailles allemandes à Meensel-Kiezegem. Ainsi, il n'est pas considéré comme prisonnier de guerre, mais comme criminel. Finalement, il succombe dans le camp de concentration de Bergen-Belsen. Un monument a été érigé pour lui à Meensel-Kiezegem.
