- Het 2^de Royal Ulster Rifles speelde in 1940 een belangrijke rol in de gevechten rond Ieper en in Noord-Frankrijk en in de daaropvolgende evacuatie van de Britse troepen vanuit Duinkerke. In 1944 maakten het 1^ste en het 2^de Bataljon samen de landing mee in Normandië. Zo belandden ze opnieuw in België, waar ze ook nog deelnamen aan het Ardennenoffensief.
