I am pleased to be able to offer you a 14 VOLUME Leuchtturm Lighthouse album pristine Israel collection from a collector who has specialised in the best modern material.
This collection comprises of most of the hard to find modern definitive varieties with phosphor band varieties being a major highlight of this collection. There are over 200 stamps in this part of the collection. Highlights include many of the hard to find valuable phosphor varieties of the Landscape, Shekel Definitive, 7 Spices, Surlick, Architecture, Archaeology, Greetings, Song Birds and Herzl [including the black variety] and most of the modern definitive series represented. There are some plate and tab blocks of different issue dates, establishing the particular issue of the stamp.
The collector also concentrated on unusual modern first day covers often made in limited quantities obtaining many of the recent classics from the mid 90’s onwards. In the collection you will find some sort after items such as perforated and imperforated mini sheets on the same cover, much material from the 1998 Tel Aviv World Stamp Exhibition and as you can see from the enclosed list many special sheets mini sheets, Prestige sheets and booklets on FDC There is a cover with Children’s pets, King Solomon Temple, Postal Museum and Zippori Sheetlets on 1 cover .There are unopened copies of the 14:14 perf and 13:14 perf show booklet [ 4 mint booklets in total]as well as a set of FDC made from the booklet. Another key item is the Telabul FDC with 6 full sheets on cover. Other good items included are the highly desirable 2004 Ottoman Towers Booklets on cover, the 2008 Noah’s Ark Booklet on cover [and mint booklet] similarly the highly sort after 2008 World Stamp Hula on cover [and mint booklet] some joint issues with both countries represented, and the major issues from this period including the 20O2 Flower series in full sheets on first day cover.
There are some 1992, 1994, 1999 booklets on cover and most years from 2000 to 2009 have FDC with booklets. Other highlights include the 1999 Flag Emergency issue with an interesting FDC with all 4 values as strips and a Full Sheet FDC of the 1.15 shekel value.
The collector enjoyed collecting Klusendorf/Doramart material and there are about 225 FDC scattered thorough out the collection with this material .Many of these covers have 2 labels per cover, which is unusual. Most have a full range of values. There are a few mint labels included from different machines.
Three is a strip of 3 of the hard to find 2004 “design a stamp” from the special sheet for Stamp exhibition guests, a sought after item often missing from collections
There is a tradition Israel stamp collection from 1948 to around 2003 in 4 printed Leuchtturm albums with slipcases and a few spare pages starting with 1948 horizontal New Year TB pairs and featuring the mini sheets as well as the stamps. This has the potential for further expansion or the recent material could be used as stock or for postage.
There is a further album containing about 40 mint booklets starting from the town series and reaching the 2007 Hula Booklet.
The albums are all in slipcases preserving the material to the highest standard and would also represent a substantial acquisition cost when new. A few of the larger sheets and covers are preserved in a large folder.
A spreadsheet has been prepared listing the contents of the collection. Some photos are also available on request.
The collection has an estimated retail value in the region of £4500 -£5500 to acquire the items individually if they can be found and is available for inspection or collection in London or immediate dispatch by an international courier. A video call can be arranged to see the collection and answer questions. The covers can be removed from the albums to reduce the weight and carriage costs.
The collection is suitable for immediate retail sale as a complete lot or broken into sections. It would also benefit from being broken into many small lots for any popular online auctions.
