1957-1990's: Comprehensive collection of near to 4000 covers, postcards, postal stationery items and FDCs plus a collection of stamps and souvenir sheets, housed in about 20 albums/stockbooks and in two boxes. This extraordinary collection is focussed mainly on Soviet space flights, cosmonauts and astronautics but also to international space projects. It contains more than 350 covers and cards bearing original signatures of almost all cosmonauts and some astronauts as Gagarin, Armstrong, Aldrin & Collins (signed original 1969 cover), Tereschkowa, many from German cosmonaut S. Jähn including personal and rare covers (several from which only 150 were made), also from Bykowski, Ewald, Reiter, Titov, Pham and many others. There are covers from starts and landings of various projects and missions from Baikonur cosmodrome, also a lot of onboard mail, a wide range of special cancellations including rare covers, good stamps and frankings including many early issues as from Albania, Bulgaria, Soviet Union and worldwide. AN IMPRESSIVE AND IMPORTANT COLLECTION. ÷ 1957-90er Jahre: Sehr umfangreiche Sammlung von fast 4000 Briefen, Postkarten, Ganzsachen und FDCs sowie einem ausführlichen Teil Briefmarken und Blockausgaben zum Thema Raumfahrt in etwa 20 Alben/Steckbüchern und in zwei Schachteln. Diese außergewöhnliche Kollektion hat ihren Schwerpunkt bei der Sowjetischen Raumfahrt und deren Kosmonauten (inklusive ausländischen Gastkosmonauten), aber zeigt auch Marken und Belege der Raumfahrt weltweit. Sie beinhaltet mehr als 350 Belege mit Originalunterschriften fast aller Kosmonauten und einiger Astronauten wie Gagarin, Armstrong, Aldrin & Collins (Originalbrief vom 20. Juli 1969), Tereschkowa, Bykowski, Ewald, Reiter, Titov, Pham und vielen anderen sowie einem zentralen Teil mit teils sehr seltenen (Auflagen teils nur 150 Stück), signierten Belegen von Sigmund Jähn. Es finden sich Belege von Starts und Landungen verschiedenster Projekte und Missionen vom Kosmodrom Baikonur, auch viel Bordpost, eine Vielzahl teils sehr seltener Stempel, auch frühe, gute Marken- und Blockausgaben wie etwa von Albanien, Bulgarien, Sowjetunion, DDR und weltweit, und vieles andere mehr. Christoph Gärtner made his hobby into his profession. He started in 1984 and within two decades the Gärtner GmbH developed into a world leading mail order house for postal stationery and became a specialist for thematics and postal history.
In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
