Maxi Cards of 2007 Lesser Panda Stamps. Formosa(Taiwan), Rep of China.

A set of 4 official maximum cards of 4 stamps, with first day cachet. Scarce.
The photo is only an example.

The lesser panda is a carnivorous mammal of the Ailuridae family. The coat on its torso is reddish chestnut and its limbs and belly are deep chestnut. It has white patches on its face and white edges around its ears.

The designs of the four stamps and the miniature sheet follow:
(1) Foraging: Lesser pandas are agile climbers, but they feed mostly on the ground. Omnivorous, their diet in the wild consists of bamboo leaves, bamboo shoots, grasses, fruits, insects and baby birds.
(2) Napping: Lesser pandas are crepuscular and nocturnal animals. When it is hot during the day, they usually sleep somewhere hidden- up high or on shady branches.
(3) Playing: Mild of temperament, lesser pandas are mischievous, playful and curious. They spend a great deal of time playing.
(4) Scratching: Lesser pandas' beautiful fluffy chestnut coats demand constant grooming. When a lesser panda raises its tiny hind leg to scratch, it is the very picture of cuteness.
