I have been a professional stamp dealer since 1972. My early career was with my father, who was a dealer from 1961, in a company called Robemark Philatelists in the Carlton Centre, Johannesburg. This became the most prestigious, privately owned philatelic businesses in Africa, employing 20 people at one stage. We published in-house our own philatelic magazine and stamp catalogues for the countries of Southern Africa. We were involved in the retail and wholesale trade for both stamps and accessories, being agents for both Leuchturm and Hawid in South Africa over many years. In 1984, we launched the first stamp website in Africa.

I formed by own business in August 1988 and moved to Hout Bay, Cape Town at the end of that year. Four postal auctions per annum were conducted continuously from 1984-2002 and since 2012 we have run four live auctions per annum in Cape Town. 

I am also one of the two organisers of the very successful monthly Stamp Fairs held in Durbanville, Cape Town. These have been running for nearly 4 years.

I presently live in Wellington, about 1 hour's drive from Cape Town.
