    They are probably WWII Occupation notes (possibly Singapore/Malaya or another territory where dollars were the currency.

    Hopefully someone with more expertise than myself can enlighten!

    The Japanese had currency very similar in design for many areas in this era. The 'M' in the 2-letter prefix tells us this is Malay; a 'B' would be Burma, a 'P' the Philippines (and it'd be in Pesos) etc. The 'O' threw me for a long time--Oceania, which circulated in many of the smaller occupied islands (and Papua New Guinea.)
