I am trying to determine the location of this World War 1 heroes statue. The engraving appears to be " die vaterstadt ihren helden " Thank you in advance for your viewing & assistance. Mike

Hi Mike,
The engraving means 'The hometown to its heroes'.
On top it's probably Saint George with the dragon.
So are we looking for a German city with Saint George as patron saint?

Thanks Quasar. That helps a lot. Saint George is the patron saint of Freiburg Germany but I can not locate the statue yet. Cheers! Mike
